Saturday Work Days

March 14, May 16, June 13, July 11

9:00 am to 3:00 pm

“We say, to shine one corner of the world; that is enough. Not the whole world.
Just make it clear where you are.” --Suzuki Roshi

Join this day of sangha work-practice at Ashland Zen Center. There will be work for every ability. Bring a bag lunch and a little something to share with everyone at lunch. Morning tea and refreshment are provided.

Come for all or part of the day – indicate your hours when you RSVP on the bulletin board in the zendo.

Work-practice is truly taking care of relationships. To be alive is to be in relationship…. with people, belongings, plants, food, animals, insects, microbes, oxygen, soil…. How careful are we? How generous? Work-practice teaches us how to live ethically, fully and joyfully in every arena of life.

Zen practice is practical. We also learn how to plant a flat of seed, how to paint a house, how to bake a crisp, how to repair a fence, how to sew a setsu. In the Buddha-Dharma, go together, appreciate together, realize together, and actualize together.

Show up and see what there is to learn!

Schedule:

12:00 pm: bag lunch + something to share

In the Buddha-Dharma, go together, appreciate together, realize together, and actualize together.
