Rohatsu Sesshin

Are things moving too quickly? Sometimes our own experiences and our own mind are moving too quickly. Everything we touch, taste, smell, hear and see is part of our mind. Also, what we hate, desire, fear, wish for, worry over, and more.

Rohatsu sesshin encourages us to slow down, and come to a complete stop. We can even drop what we think our Rohatsu will be, what we think we will get. We can stop trying and simply be. There is no other life than the one you are now. Now is the time. Only you can give yourself Rohatsu.

Rohatsu sesshin includes sitting and walking meditation, service, oryoki meals, dharma talks, rest, work practice, tea and private interviews with Teachers.

The character of Rohatsu is all seven days. Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate in the entire sesshin. If you register for less than the full seven days you must register for complete days, from 6:00am zazen to 8:40pm bow out.

Exceptions to complete day registration are available if you have a medical condition that requires you to be present less than the complete day.

Registration

Cost for Rohatsu is $350, or $280 for pledging sangha. For those not attending the full sesshin this is $50/day, or $40/day for pledging sangha.

It is our tradition to express gratitude to the teacher through a dana offering. For this purpose a bowl will be out during Rohatsu for donations.

Application and payment are due by Monday, November 13. No late applications, no refunds. Payments can be made by check to AZC, delivered with your application to 740 Tolman Creek Road, Ashland OR 97520 or via the PayPal link below.

COVID Protocols

Up-to-date vaccination is required of all participants. Windows will be open and air purifiers will be running in all shared indoor spaces during rohatsu. Note that COVID testing may be required of participants depending on conditions in December.
