The Quan Yin Cottage at Ashland Zen Center is set back from the street, adjacent to the Zen Center Temple, on nearly an acre of lovely grounds.

Wake to birdsong, and eat breakfast on the deck. Stroll the fragrant flower gardens and sit on one of the contemplative benches. Quiet meditation practice takes place six times a week in another building and you may take part or not, as fits your vacation plans.

Enjoy mountain views to the North from the cottage windows and custom French doors.

Small kitchen is fully stocked, and has a full sized refrigerator, gas range and oven.

A microwave, coffee maker and toaster are provided.

Bathroom has bathtub/shower combination, sink and toilet.

A cast-iron gas stove warms the living room on cool evenings, and air conditioning is available for hot summer afternoons.

Bedroom has a queen bed, the couch opens to full bed. A flat screen TV with DVD player is provided for viewing movies, along with a small library of DVDs. A CD player is available for your favorite music.

The cottage is half a block from the Ashland Bike Path, which offers a pleasant 30- minute walk into the heart of Ashland. Bicycle rentals, river rafting services, farmer’s markets, hot springs, spa services, yoga classes, organic farms, wineries, restaurants, movie theaters, fitness club, and coffee shops are all moments from your doorstep.

Ashland’s finest treasures are just 7 minutes away by car: the Ashland Shakespeare Festival, Oregon Cabaret Theatre, Lithia Park, and the Ashland downtown plaza. Additionally, hiking trails in the woods overlooking Ashland, or around the mountain lakes of the surrounding Siskiyou Mountains are always beckoning.

Quan Yin Cottage is named for the goddess of compassion and mercy; the one who hears the cries of the world. A statue of Quan Yin graces the garden outside the cottage door.

Quan Yin Cottage is maintained through the service of Zen students who are dedicated to your privacy and comfort. All proceeds from the cottage go towards the maintenance of Ashland Zen Center. AZC is a non-profit, Soto Zen Temple in the lineage of Suzuki Roshi, located at 740 Tolman Creek Road.
